Swimming Lessons
Do you want to learn to swim, improve your technique or even become a teacher or a lifesaver in a friendly, nurturing, successful recognised environment?
As an ASA Approved Centre, and the recipient of the Premier Aquamark, Bollington Leisure Centre strives to develop swimming as a sport for all.
Swimming lessons run alongside school terms and are available for all ages and abilities from four months to masters swimmers. Term time lessons include sessions for children with extra needs, Rookie Lifeguards for young adults and private lessons for those swimmers of any age with a particular hurdle to overcome.
During holiday time intensive crash courses take place for children, offering either small elite classes to influence fast track improvement or discounted lessons to help train new teachers.
All lessons are pupil centred and each swimmer is progressed in a way that nurtures their natural ability while teaching new strokes and skills at a manageable pace.
Institute of Swimming accredited teacher training courses take place throughout the year and provide qualification opportunities for pool helpers (minimum age 14 years), Level One Teachers (minimum age 16 years) and Level Two Teachers (minimum age 17 years). Complementing teacher training, nationally recognised lifesaving qualifications such as National Pool Lifeguard, Rescue Test for Teachers and Bronze Medallion also run at various times throughout the year.
